Pediatric Occupational Therapy

My practice
Occupational therapy is all about helping people live their fullest lives, by facilitating independence and participation in meaningful activities, aka “occupations.” For children, these activities often relate to daily living skills, social participation, learning, and play.
My work is rooted in building strong connections with each child and their team, in order to build a trusting therapeutic relationship and recognize the unique strengths and challenges of each child. I work with children of all ages and, together with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other service providers, develop individualized goals and intervention plans to help children successfully engage in their daily lives. My aim is for therapy to be fun and engaging and for each child to feel safe, valued, and empowered.
I provide client-centered, neurodiversity-affirming, evidence-based care with sessions that take place in the home, virtually, and in natural settings.
“Medicine adds days to life, occupational therapy adds life to days.”
Services
-
OT Evaluations
I provide a comprehensive evaluation, with standardized assessments, observation, and parent interview to gain insights into a child’s developmental profile. Together with parents, we establish therapy goals and create an individualized intervention plan.
-
In-Home Sessions
Direct one to one treatment sessions take place in a child’s home and outdoor spaces. I provide my own sensory-rich equipment and materials in addition to maximizing a child’s own space. Each session builds on skills, working toward goal attainment.
-
Telehealth
I offer virtual sessions for clients near and far! These sessions typically remain one to one if it is developmentally appropriate for the child. Sessions typically last between 30-60 minutes. I also offer parent coaching and consultations in this format.
-
School Consultations
Collaboration with professionals at the school level is essential for carryover of skills. I offer school meetings for children in addition to child observations and teacher consultations for general classroom adaptations and strategies for student success.
